Privacy notice
When you submit a sourcing, BOM, inventory, purchase or contact request, HONGTE collects the contact details, company information, requirements and attachments you provide to review and respond to it.
How your information is used
Requests are available to the site administrator and processed through hosting, database, email-delivery and business-mailbox providers. New-request notifications are delivered to HONGTE’s designated business inbox so our team can respond. Customer-supplied files remain in protected admin storage; notification emails contain file-specific download links that expire after 30 days instead of attaching the original files. Do not upload confidential information beyond what is needed to assess your request.
Customer support chat
The “Let’s talk” window connects you with HONGTE staff, not an automated AI assistant. We save the messages you send, staff replies, optional name and email, message times and the website page where you chat. While an existing conversation is open, that page is shared with our team so they can identify the product you are consulting about; query parameters and fragments are not saved. This is not continuous browsing or online-presence tracking. Staff may send links to products in our catalogue. New customer messages may be included in email reminders to HONGTE’s business inbox. Messages are accessible to authorized administrators and the browser holding your conversation cookie; they are not publicly displayed. Avoid sharing passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary confidential information.
For customer support, we also save the approximate country or region supplied by our hosting provider for your chat request's public IP. This country information is available only to authorized support staff; the chat feature does not save your complete IP address. A new message may refresh a known region, and reopening your own conversation can fill a previously unknown region. VPNs and proxies may affect this estimate. It is not precise location, nationality or a shipping address, and we do not infer it from your language or join it to traffic-analytics records.
You can add, correct or remove optional contact details in the chat window. If you explicitly choose “Email me when HONGTE replies,” we use your email address to send transactional reply reminders through our email-delivery provider. These reminders do not contain the conversation’s message content or a private access link. Return to this website in the same browser to read your reply. To stop future reply reminders, uncheck that option or remove your email and save your contact details; an email already sent cannot be recalled. Providing an email address alone does not subscribe you to these reminders or to marketing emails.
An essential, HttpOnly cookie keeps access to your conversation for 30 days in the same browser. Clearing cookies, changing devices or letting the cookie expire can prevent you from reopening that conversation; it does not itself delete the messages saved on the server. Unsent message and contact-edit drafts and a non-sensitive chat-used preference may be stored locally for up to 30 days. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to resume that conversation, so use a private browser on a shared device. You can contact us to request access, correction or deletion of your saved messages.
Basic website traffic analytics
HONGTE uses first-party traffic analytics to understand visits to our public pages. We record the page path, time, approximate IP-derived country, a masked IP address, device category, referring website domain and limited campaign tags. The analytics database does not store complete IP addresses, full referring URLs, search or form values, advertising click identifiers, or a cross-site identifier. A randomly generated identifier saved only in this browser groups visits to this website for up to 90 days from its creation; returning does not extend that lifetime. The server stores a keyed hash of this identifier, not its original value. We do not use IP addresses to identify or merge visitors, and we do not link this identifier to customer accounts or chat messages. Clearing local storage, changing browsers or devices, or expiration creates a new identifier. An anonymous tab-session identifier separately groups page views during a visit; a new session starts after 30 minutes of inactivity. Older records without a browser identifier can only be grouped by their existing session. A browser or visit session is not the same as a unique person.
Reports cover a rolling 90-day window. Expired records are removed in bounded hourly cleanup batches while analytics receives visits; physical deletion may be delayed when the service is inactive or cleanup has a backlog. Country information may reflect a proxy or VPN, and browsers may hide the referring website. Records are visible only to authorized administrators. We honor browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for this analytics feature. You can also disable it below.
Understanding which visits lead to an inquiry
When analytics is enabled and you have not opted out or sent a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, a short-lived, first-party HttpOnly cookie can retain a source summary for up to 30 minutes. This summary contains the source channel, limited campaign tags, referring domain, public landing-page path, page language, approximate country and capture time. If you successfully submit an RFQ or BOM request during that period, we may save this summary with the request so authorized administrators can assess which sources lead to inquiries. It does not include your full IP address, full referring URL, search or form values, advertising click identifier, or anonymous browser identifier. This is not a connection to a customer account or cross-site tracking. This feature does not send the inquiry or source summary to Google, Reddit or other advertising platforms.
This preference applies to this browser only.
Local storage and cookies
Your cart is stored in your browser. Basic traffic analytics uses local storage for its anonymous browser identifier and session storage for the anonymous tab-session identifier; an analytics opt-out preference is saved locally if you choose one. The inquiry-source feature uses the separate 30-minute HttpOnly cookie described above. Disabling analytics removes the local identifiers when browser storage permits it, requests removal of this source cookie and stops new collection and source association in this browser; it does not delete earlier server records or source summaries already saved with requests. Essential session cookies are used for administrator login and customer support chat. Customer submissions are saved on the server; they are not publicly displayed.
Access and deletion requests
Use the “Let’s talk” chat window or email info@hongte-ic.com and include your request reference to ask for access, correction or deletion. The administrator should verify your identity before responding. An RFQ or BOM request may include the source summary described above; the anonymous browser identifier is not linked to your customer account or chat messages.
