MOSFET

What is a MOSFET? A MOSFET, or Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor, is a semiconductor device used to switch or control electrical current. It has three main terminals: Gate, Drain, and Source. By applying voltage to the Gate, the MOSFET controls current flow between the Drain and Source. MOSFETs are widely used because they offer fast switching, high efficiency, low power consumption, and reliable performance. Common types include N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs. Key specifications include VDS, ID, RDS(on), VGS(th), Gate Charge, power dissipation, and package type. MOSFETs are commonly used in power supplies, DC-DC converters, motor controllers, battery management systems, automotive electronics, LED drivers, inverters, chargers, and industrial equipment.
